Back in 2020, I co-founded Climentum Capital , one of Europe’s first fully dedicated climate impact funds.
Impact measurement back then? A mess.
Everyone was talking about it. Few really understood it. And almost no one had a clear way to measure what “impact” actually meant.
Reporting was complex. And you basically needed a PhD to make sense of it all.
Five years later?
The problem we never fixed For years, I’ve been craving a simplification of the whole system.
Regulators should make it easier.
Or someone should finally democratize measurement and make it plain simple — so that funds, family offices, and investors can actually understand the tangible outcomes of their investments.
Because let’s be real: imagine realizing five years later that none of your “green” investments had any positive impact. How ridiculous would that be?
And yet, that’s happening.
Hundreds of millions are being poured into “climate” deals that turn out to have zero or even negative impact.
Then, someone cracked it Two years ago, Leslie Kapin from Astanor Ventures reached out to me with something new: the Impact Valuation Hub
Astanor, Summa Equity and Wire Group came together to coordinate their fund-level approaches to impact valuation and created the Impact Valuation Hub.
Check out their work. For the first time, it makes sense.
It is practical, structured, and designed for investors.
Most funds spend a fortune hiring consultants to “develop” their own frameworks, reinventing the wheel every time.
Leslie and her Impact Valuation Hub team had already done the hard work, turning years of experimentation into something usable by everyone.
I immediately told her:
“You should turn this into an online course.”
“Distill all that expertise into a simple, 2-day format that equips every fund or family office with the frameworks and tools they actually need.”
And now, it’s happening.
Introducing the Impact Valuation Hub The Impact Valuation Hub is a membership community built for funds, family offices, and impact investors who want to implement real impact valuation — start to finish.
They’ve gathered existing frameworks and turned them into an approach that’s relevant, practical, and tested specifically for investors.
As a member, you’ll join a community of peers already doing this work, learning from others, solving challenges together, and advancing the field collectively.
And to kick it off, there’s a 2-day interactive training November 26–27 , where you’ll:
In just 7 hours, you’ll be equipped to do what used to take most funds years (and consultants) to figure out.
Why I’m involved I’m genuinely proud that Climate Insiders is partnering with the Impact Valuation Hub on this.
And that’s exactly what the climate finance world needs.
If you’re a GP, impact manager, or LP , I highly recommend joining.
